This iron is fab!! Cuts through creases like a knife through butter , was a bit sceptical at reviews at first but I'm so glad I bought this so nice not having to worry about changing the temperature control and to go from ironing linen to delicates straight away is great. I can even iron over my sons rubberised printed t shirts with no sticking or smudging!! . I can't stop telling my friends and family how good this iron is you will not be disappointed if you buy this . I will not go back to a normal steam iron again . Thank you Phillips

Ironing is effortless and so much quicker than before. The lack of having to wait for temperature change between garments is brilliant and the soleplate is great too.Overall a five star product. Only downside was having to replace the ironing board for a mesh type to enable the steam to penetrate.

If you need a new iron this is the one to buy. I love it, it's easy to use, you can't burn clothes and cuts your ironing time by at least half. You won't regret buying it.

I bought this originally in April 2012 but it developed a major leak. However, I loved this steam generator so much that only the same one would do. I am now using No 2 and I made the right choice. My first reaction when I got this was "where are the controls?". It really is as simple as plug it in, put water in it and switch on. I am still amazed that you can change from denim to silk to cotton without doing a thing and it performs beautifully. The clip to hold the iron in place is a godsend as it makes life so easy to move it. Yes it is bulky but surprisingly light for a steam generator. Must admit I am feeling a bit weird being enthusiastic about an iron but this almost makes ironing a pleasure. This is definitely the best steam generator I have ever had - buy one. You won't regret it and you will never want a normal iron again!

Love this iron it really does reduce time spent at the board and irons clothes much easier. Lives up to its description and does everything it claims to. Well worth spending the extra rather than going through cheap iron after iron and spending a fortune anyway!

The Philips PerfectCare Optimal temp iron is the queen bee of irons and Philips have done exactly what they say on the box and done it well! This Iron glides effortlessly from wools to jeans with out the user having to touch a fiddly dial to change the temperature. The iron magically recongnises the fabric using an Advanced Smart Control Procesor. No more burnt iron plates or ruined silk blouses. This saves time as you no longer have to wait for the iron to cool or heat up between garments. Its easy to see with this product why Philips have earned the title of 'World's No 1 Ironing Brand' its amazing and has saved me time and effort to the point where I quite enjoy ironing, compared to the previous chore it was and I would recommend to friends and family. You will need more storage space than a normal iron but it is an average size compared to other steam generators.

Philips PerfectCare GC9230/02 is a mother of all irons! All other should be base on this make and model. It is almost perfect... to make it 100% perfect I would make it in red, as navy does not really go with me décor ;-) But back to the iron... First impression - it is HUGE. My thoughts were maybe Philips sent me 2 by mistake or added some other extra goodies, but no, this is the size this fantastic Philips PerfectCare GC9230/02 comes in. So, I got the huge box and start digging in so I could see this beauty. After getting is out of the box, rest was easy - I removed some papers, and plastic bits, read instruction, removed water tank, filled it with water (I use mineral one as we have very hard water, but you don't have to), plugged it is, waited 2 minuted for ready sign and off you go... you are ready for the trip into ironing land. Ironing itself using Philips PerfectCare GC9230/02 is a pure pleasure. You don't have to worry about changing temp, burning your delicate clothes or the fact that you may run out of water (1 tank will last you for 2hours) I must say this iron gave fun back into ironing for me. I hated this task but now I find it quite relaxing and enjoyable. If you need new iron I would recommend Philips PerfectCare GC9230/02. It is not a cheap option but it is right choice and you will get 2 years warranty and 30 days money back guarantee if you are not happy. I have been using this iron over the last month and could not be happier. This is possibly the best iron I have ever had the pleasure of using, it heats up within 2 minutes of switch on and is then ready to go. There are no adjustable dials so it's 1 setting for all materials which really does work, I was a bit dubious at first but felt brave and ironed a silk scarf - which ironed beautifully I may add. The cords are stored on the unit itself (when not in use), keeping everything neat and tidy. The iron also locks in place whilst being stored which is a very useful feature. I have no complaints about this product whatsoever and would recommend to all.
