To prevent tubing misconnections, a persistent and potentially deadly occurrence, Philips has developed a line of oral/enteral syringes for use with neonatal, infant, and pediatric patients throughout the hospital.
Features
Bright orange coloring to reduce connection errors.
The highly visible orange plunger alerts caregivers that this is an enteral/oral only syringe, not an IV medication syringe. This helps avoid dangerous feeding and medication errors that can pose a significant risk to the infant and the hospital.
Seven different sizes fit all needs
Oral/enteral syringes come in seven different sizes (1 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml, and 60 ml) to meet the needs of infants with different body weights and feeding schedules.
Highly visible labeling helps clinicians
"ORAL/ENTERAL ONLY" syringes are marked as such in large, highly visible labeling on one side of the barrel to easily distinguish them as an enteral only syringe, even during gavage feeding when the syringe plunger is removed.
The Enteral Only Extension Sets are designed to help reduce the potential for inadvertent delivery of enteral feedings through the intravenous route. The unique safety tip is NOT compatible with IV tubing or stopcocks.
The Philips SafeFeed Reservoir is an all-in-one collection, transport, storage, preparation, and delivery device that assists parents and caregivers in transitioning premature infants from enteral to oral feeding.
These soft, smooth polyurethane feeding tubes are designed with rounded, open ends which can reduce the likelihood of trauma on infant tissues. The tubes are part of an end-to-end enteral feeding solution.
