The highly visible orange plunger alerts caregivers that this is an enteral/oral only syringe, not an IV medication syringe. This helps avoid dangerous feeding and medication errors that can pose a significant risk to the infant and the hospital.
Seven different sizes fit all needs
Oral/enteral syringes come in seven different sizes (1 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml, and 60 ml) to meet the needs of infants with different body weights and feeding schedules.
Highly visible labeling helps clinicians
"ORAL/ENTERAL ONLY" syringes are marked as such in large, highly visible labeling on one side of the barrel to easily distinguish them as an enteral only syringe, even during gavage feeding when the syringe plunger is removed.
